We have an old Litek reader board that we dusted off from our supply closet. Finding the software to run this thing was a massive chore. I have provided the software below in hopes to save you some time and some money. Can you believe the company wanted to charge me $200 for this? What the hell, I already have the reader board that I brought from your for over $1,000 I just lost the software. I mean, it from 1991! So if you're looking for software for a Litek electronic sign you came to right place.

This DOS software should power the following lightboards:

All of these boards are the standard LED kind. The kind that we have is the three color LED, it's really a pretty cool sign considering it's almost 10 years old. So here it is, the old DOS software to run a Litek electronic sign/reader board. Enjoy! This software despite being written for DOS also runs in Windows 95/98 not too bad. The software you might be looking for is called edall.exe which is just this software renamed. This will create .S64 files and also send them to the reader board via a serial or modem connection.

Click here to download the software for the Litek reader boards. It worked for me! I am looking for a hack to this code so that I don't even need there software. What I'd like to do is have a linux box or something just randomly scroll some information off the screen. I'd like to automate the process instead of being forced to use their software. I may attempt to hack the code that it uses, any information you have please let me know!

The only Litek dealer I can even find any more is Optec Displays. Aparently Litek went out of business, but that's no reason you shouldn't be able to get the software you need. After all you can't do anything without a Litek reader board.
