Summer Camp in Lake Oswego

During Mid-July, the first four Canby Lacrosse members attended a camp in Lake Oswego. Steve Nelson, Josh McDonald, Dakota Parker, and Joe Lambert (in order according to below) all had a fantastic time and learned a lot.

On a very rainy and wet Monday evening, two first year programs hooked up to scrimmage. It was a really fun evening for everyone as the kids got their first taste of the real action.

On April 12, 2007, the Lacrosse era in Canby officially began with a road game versus Grant. Facing their huge numbers (37 players), we fought and battled and learned a lot.

Well, we learned that we have quite a bit to learn. The Grant game showed us that, while we have made huge strides, we still have a long way to go as we get better. No problem with that though - getting better is FUN!!!

On April 12, the Cougs started a new era of sports in Canby with the first ever home lacrosse versus Glencoe. The Cougs shook loose in the last 2 minutes to win a close one.

On April 24, the Cougs faced a feisty Clackamas team. With a hat trick in the first 2 minutes of the game by Taylor VanAmburgh, the Cougs never looked and continued their improvement.

Sisters Tourney Game vs. Burns


On April 28, the Cougs traveled to Sisters for a Saturday full of lacrosse. In the first game, the Cougs took on Burns. They had some HUGE kids and some not-so-huge kids.

Burns wanted to play us again so we agreed and battled them again. They played much better and we were unbelievably exhausted as this was our third game of the day, but we had fun though.

On May 4, the Cougars traveled to West Linn to take on a team from one of the very first lacrosse programs in Oregon. After a slow start, the Cougs dominated the second half.

On May 12, the Cougars hosted a four team jamboree including Glencoe, West Linn, and Hood River. It was a long day of lacrosse and a lot of fun.

On May 24, Canby hosted Wilson. The Cougars season long improvement continued to show as this one was never really in doubt.

On May 29, Canby hosted Riverdale. The Cougs shook off a mid-season swoon in the second half, but had fallen behind too much in the first half. The good news was the we seemed to "find the fire" again.

On June 9, the Coug traveled to Hood River for a season-ending jamboree. Previously having split the season series with Hood River, the Cougs settled the score in a hard fought and exciting game that went up to the last moments.
